We are finally building the Kittycade! We routed out all the parts on the CNC router table and got busy with the glue up:



Really at the last minute we decided to add the detail of engraving the outline of the Kitty and the Marquee in the back panels. Since the Kittycade is a bartop arcade, the back will be visible while it sits on the bar. This will make the back look “finished”.
Once the box and control panel were glued up we checked the fit of the hinged and removable parts:



Then the work of attaching the hinges and fitting the other pieces could go forward:




The hinges work great on both the CP and the back:
Then it was time to start wiring in the power supplies and powered items like the marquee light and the power switch, both of which need 12VDC, and the amplifier and volume control for the speakers which needs 5VDC:


We used epoxy to mount standoffs for the I-PAC controller circuit board and the amplifier/volume control for the speakers. This will allow us to remove these to repair or replace if necessary:

Next comes the tedious part…wiring.


We finally got all the painting and graphics applied and everything put back in:
