Pete’s (P) Arcade Beginning

I’ve always thought the TAITO cab design was one of the best looking ever made.

I actually bought a non-working machine (that sat in storage for years) thinking I would make one someday. (The top on this one is flat, but the rest of the dimensions, hardware, and internal design is the same.)

Well, that day has come. One of my sons wants an arcade machine and he likes the TAITO design (with the slanted top.) So we dismantled the TAITO and started drawing the new cab. As much as possible we matched all the parts of the original, adjusting the top of course, and are using all the old hardware that held the cab together.

While while my son modeled the cab, I worked artwork. I took the original art, digitized it, cleaned it up a bt, and used it as the basis for our desing:

I took the TAITO logo and made it a PETE’S logo:

Then created a Marquee and Control Panel (CP):

Isn’t 3D rendering from a Solidworks model cool?!
